The Addict is a gripping crime fiction involving the hunt for a terrorist. Case agent, Special Agent Maddison Cade, stumbles into an old high school buddy during the investigation. The old high school friend has fallen into a life of drugs and deception. Cade vows to help his old friend, so he enlists the man as an informant to keep an eye on him. As the two men work through the grusome pieces of the killing-spree puzzle, they each share pieces of their own life. In the end one man pulls the other to a better place. Readers will be so focused on the chase, they will not realize they are reading an inspirational book of sorts. The ending will leave many questioning their own values and concept of "success." This book is appropriate for most any reader as it is packed with suspense, twists and a surprise ending, with no profanity and carefully-written adult scenes. The entire Maddison Cade series to follow will be "fiction with a purpose," providing an escape from reality with an added life lesson.
Bob and his then 14 year-old son, Cade, took on Africa's Mt Kilimanjaro in 2017. The focus of the climb of course was Kilimanjaro's 19,341' summit, but the two week journey was life-altering for the father/son duo. In part, a visit with kids in a Tanzanian orphanage sparked a deep discussion between Cade and Bob about challenges, known and unknown, that we ALL face, and how we could be more supportive of each other as we cross paths. These "climb on" bands were distributed to school groups, and meant to signify that the holder of the band might be different from you, might have a different skin color, political view, religious belief... but if you are in need of support, a listening ear, or a shoulder, they "got you." In the same fashion that a rock climbing partner can't climb your mountain, but CAN give you support and encouragement, and hold the lifeline (rope) in the event that you do fall.
Bands can be made available with notice for youth presentations with $2 (encouraged not required) donations that are 100% used to reinvest in bands.
